Right now, 2.3 million Americans are locked away behind bars. They've left behind 1.7 million children — and the majority of them will follow in their parents' footsteps… right into prison.
Many prisoners' children:
- Struggle with feelings of shame, abandonment, loneliness and depression
- Perform poorly in school
- Do drugs, abuse alcohol and contribute to the national crisis of teen pregnancies
- Walk the same path as their parents and end up behind bars themselves
Real and lasting change happens from the inside out. It begins with a reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
But prisoners and their children cannot believe in Him unless they hear about Him. And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? Prison Fellowship meets prisoners and their children where they are and proclaims the Good News of the Gospel.
